About Renewable Energy

What is Renewable Energy?
Renewable Energy (RE) is energy derived from non-consumable, natural sources such as sunshine (solar energy), wind (wind energy), and flowing water (hydro energy). The energy captured from these sources is usually directly converted to heat or electricity. It is considered "green" energy because it does not involve direct, ongoing pollution of the environment (other than that which may arise from the manufacture of the conversion equipment, or the use of the power generated by it). In contrast, traditional energy sources (fossil fuels, gasoline, coal or uranium) are consumed (non-renewable) and are considered "brown" energy because the mass-to-energy conversion process produces undesirable by-products (mostly useless and/or harmful) such as heat, smoke, harmful gases, and radiation. The Need To Make Use Of Renewable EnergyWe believe that this earth, as created, is designed to sustain not only our present population, but our future population as well, without the need to impose involuntary controls on the birth and death rate. But in order for earth to sustain the population we must both conserve our present resources (such as non-renewable energy sources) and make use of the available Renewable Energy that has been provided in one form or another throughout the world. How Does RightHand Engineering Fit In?We produce tools that help monitor Renewable Energy so that it is used more efficiently. |
